You are viewing the newly redesigned website for the Lions Multiple District 13D year 2009-2010. Members and visitors are both welcome to this site. Here you will find information about our District that is helpful and provides insight to what Lions do and how you can become involved if you are not a member of a Lions Club. Our District is comprised of nearly 60 clubs in the District over a 5 County wide area in Northeastern & East Central Ohio. Portage, Stark, Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties make up the 5 counties in Ohio that we are located. Lions Clubs International (LCI) is the parent organization for every Lions Club. Lions Clubs were started in by a Chicago Businessman by the name of Melvin Jones in 1917. In 19 25, Helen Keller challenged Lions Clubs to become the “Knights of the Blind” at the International Lions Convention at Cedar Point, OH. Ever since, sight projects have been the main thrust for Lions Clubs. Lions Clubs are the world’s largest service organization in the world with over 1.3 million members world wide. Clubs are comprised of members volunteering their time, talents and efforts to make the communities in which they live better.
