Meet District Governor Jeff Snyder
Lion Jeff joined the Lions in 1991 as a member of the Magnolia Lions Club. He has held the position of King Lion twice and is a recipient of the 100% Club President’s Award. He was Zone Chairman of Zone 7, served on the Cabinet for five years, has been a delegate to the Melvin Jones Eye Care Foundation where is in his 4th term as Vice-Pres. of the Board. He currently serves on the MERL team and the Long Range Planning Committee. Lion Jeff sponsored the first female for membership in the Magnolia Lions Club in 2003. He co-chaired the Magnolia Lions’ Sight First II Fund Raising which raised over $6,000, and is his club’s Public Relations Chairman. Lion Jeff is a Melvin Jones Fellow and has attended every 13D District Convention since 1992 and has attended a USA/Canada Forum and five State Conventions, plus other district conventions and the International Convention in Sydney Australia. He is also a recipient of the International President’s Commendation Award. Lion Jeff has been married to Lion Carol for thirty-eight years. They have two married daughters, a granddaughter and a grandson. In addition to being a Leo Advisor, Lion Carol is a Melvin Jones Fellow and a Betty Coffey Fellow. He and Lion Carol have shared their musical talents by entertaining at various club and district functions. Jeff is a 1968 graduate of Perry (Stark) High School and a 1976 graduate of Kent State . He retired from the Sandy Valley Local Schools in June of 2006 after thirty years of teaching fourth grade. He is listed in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. He has volunteered at the local food bank the last five years and is a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in the Sandy Valley area. He and Lion Carol are members of the Magnolia United Methodist Church.
